SPOKANE, Wash. — The University of Idaho men’s and women’s basketball teams held a free skills clinic for kids at Hoopfest.
Idaho has a strong presence at the event with a handful of branded courts.
It’s an effort to push the sport forward and keep the Vandal brand strong in the Inland Northwest.
First-year women’s basketball coach Arthur Moreira said the community efforts could also help in program camaraderie and recruiting.
“Everybody here is all about basketball in Spokane and Moscow, all about the University of Idaho,” Moreira said. “This is awesome. It’s great opportunity to get us out there and get our girls to show what they can do. “
