MOSCOW, Idaho. – The (9-3) Idaho Vandals claimed the Potato State Trophy after a win against the Idaho State Bengals, Saturday night.
On Sunday morning, the team was greeted with the eighth seed in the FCS playoff bracket which means the Vandals get a first-round bye and get to host their first post-season game at home.
“I think the last time the Vandals won nine games in the regular season was 1994, so that’s a great accomplishment for our seniors, said head coach Jason Eck. “We’re headed to the playoffs now with five-straight wins so we’ve got some positive momentum.”
Eck has led the Vandals to the playoffs in all three season’s of his head coaching tenure at Idaho.
The No. 8 Vandals will play the winner of the Richmond vs. Lehigh game in the Kibbie Dome on Saturday, December 7.
