SPOKANE, Wash – Just days after Gonzaga’s run in the NCAA tournament ended, Zag favorite Ben Gregg posted a goodbye on social media, titling the post “Zag for life.”
Gregg posted to Instagram and Twitter/X, including a picture of himself as a young child with Gonzaga mascot Spike.
“Putting the Gonzaga jersey on is something I literally used to dream about when I was a kid,” he wrote. “I will be forever thankful to the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to live out that dream.”
“Spokane has taught me so much about myself on and off the court and has opened a lot of doors to meet new people and have a positive impact on this amazing community, which I will always try to help out even when my playing days are done,” Gregg continued.
Gregg played five seasons with Gonzaga, averaging 9.1 points per game in his final year.
Gonzaga lost to Houston the round of 32, ending their NCAA tournament streak at nine consecutive sweet sixteen appearances.
