SPOKANE, Wash. – We’re just days away from the start of the Spokane Indians season, they host the Everett AquaSox this Friday to begin their Northwest League Championship title defense.
The Indians won their first title since 2008 on a walk-off hit by pitch and now look to 2025 to try and carry that momentum into the new season and year.
Spokane gains 14 players from the Low-A Fresno Grizzlies this offseason, which is almost half of the 30-man roster.
Infielder Jared Thomas is one of the new additions moving up from Fresno, and he spoke today about his arrival to Spokane and what he wants out of this season.
“Coming to a park that’s got a lot of rich history, park’s been here for a long time, looks phenomenal. weather’s great, it’s got them big trees in the background with the show on the mountains, so it’s been good,” Thomas said. “We got a great group of guys and i think we’re gonna have a great culture coming into this season, for sure. we’re gonna go do our best to go out there and just have fun. we know the success of the team last year, and we’re going to try and do the same thing and come back with a victory, so it’s gonna be cool.”
Now the Indians shift their gears from practice to full swing mode, gearing up for their first of 66 home games at Avista Stadium.
Firework night for Opening Day at Avista Stadium, it’s Indians versus Everett AquaSox is this Friday at 6:35 p.m.
