CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Former Washington State basketball star Jaylen Wells suffered an injury in the Memphis Grizzlies’ game at the Charlotte Hornets, needing to be put on a stretcher and carted off the court.
Wells’ father shared an update through social media, saying his son is “awake and alert”, and has a swollen wrist. He added Wells is about to get an X-ray and CT scan.
Wells is nearly finished with his rookie season, where he is averaging 10.5 points per game and played his way into the starting lineup, making him one of just two former Cougs (Klay Thompson) to get major NBA minutes this season.
We’ll update this article as we learn more about his condition.
