Struggling Rockies ship SS Tovar (hip) off to IL

Losers of six straight, the Colorado Rockies placed Ezequiel Tovar, 23, on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hip contusion, and manager Bud Black told reporters that his starting shortstop, who last played on Tuesday, is “in some discomfort.”
