SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Indians mercilessly scored gobs of runs on the Eugene Emeralds, commanding a 1-0 series lead after a 17-5 drubbing.
Just off snapping his hit streak, Jared Thomas hit 3-5, including three runs, and two RBIs. Skyler Messinger added another three hits with a home run and five RBIs.
Every starting Indian hitter recorded either a run or hit, nine total Indians scoring a run.
This evens both teams’ records at 8-8 on the season, and Game 2 of the week-long series begins tomorrow at 6:35 p.m.
