MEDICINE HAT, Alberta – A tough night for the Spokane Chiefs saw them drop Game 1 of the Western Hockey League finals 4-1 to the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The Chiefs dropped their first Game 1 of their playoff run, and fell behind by a goal within the first minute of the opening period.
Spokane’s Berkly Catton scored the Chiefs’ lone goal, his ninth score of the playoffs.
WHL Player of the Year Gavin McKenna bagged two assists for the Tigers, extending his record-55-game point streak.
Game 2 begins Sunday at 6:00 p.m. PST back at Medicine Hat.
