Chicago Cubs legend and Spokane native Ryne Sandberg has died after battling cancer.
Sandberg was 65.
He is a ten-time all-star and nine-time Golden Glove winner. Sandberg was drafted in the 1978 MLB draft to the Phillies.
Sandberg is a North Central High School graduate and the school’s baseball field is dedicated in his name.
