SPOKANE, Wash. – Following a resounding Sunday win at the Everett AquaSox, the Spokane Indians fell back to earth with a 5-2 loss to the Hillsboro Hops to open their six-game series.
Spokane led 2-0 after the first inning, but a quality start from Alberto Pacheco (6.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 3 K) wasn’t capitalized on with a weak bullpen performance. The Indians allowed four runs in the final three innings, scoring zero of their own across the final eight frames.
Aidan Longwell added a pair of hits, one of which a double. Skyler Messinger and Caleb Hobson were the only two hitless Spokane batters.
The Indians return for Game 3 tomorrow at 6:35 p.m.
