SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Zephyr FC has appointed Nicole Lukic as its new head coach, the team announced Tuesday.
Lukic joins the team after serving as Director of Talent Identification for the Youth National Teams at U.S. Soccer, where she worked alongside Emma Hayes, according to the team announcement.
Previously, Lukic led Minnesota Aurora FC to two undefeated regular seasons and consecutive playoff appearances, earning USL W Coach of the Year honors in 2022, the team said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nicole Lukic to Spokane Zephyr FC,” said Katie Harnetiaux, President and Co-founder of Aequus Sports, LLC. “At Aequus Sports, elevating women isn’t just part of our mission—it’s who we are.”
“I am honored to be named the Head Coach of Spokane Zephyr FC,” Lukic said in the team’s announcement. “I look forward to building on the foundation already in place and continuing to grow a team that Spokane will be proud of.”
The club thanked Interim Head Coach Josh McAllister for his leadership during the transition.
Spokane Zephyr FC is currently tied for second place with a 2-2-4 record in the Gainbridge Super League, according to the team.
