MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals couldn’t overcome a glacial first half start and fell 37-16 to the Idaho State Bengals at home for the first time since 1981.
Vandals’ quarterback Joshua Wood only managed 73 passing yards and an interception before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the second half, and true freshman QB Sawyer Teeney showed flashes of the future with 8/12, 53 yards and a touchdown pass.
Idaho converted only two of their 11 third down attempts compared to a 7-15 day for ISU, and the V’s dropped their eighth game of the year.
The Vandals begin their 2026 season at the Cal Poly Mustangs on August 29.
