SPOKANE, Wash – The first NET rankings of the young college basketball season are out and the Gonzaga Bulldogs came in at #5.
The Zags are behind Michigan, Duke, Purdue and Vanderbilt, all of which are undefeated.
Gonzaga’s only loss so far this season was to Michigan.
The Wolverines handed the Zags their biggest loss of the Mark Few era. Michigan beat Gonzaga 101-61 in the championship game of the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.
NET rankings take into account more than just wins and losses. It combines game results, strength of schedule, quality of wins and losses and more.
Gonzaga finished just outside of the top 10 in the latest AP Poll.
The Zags moved up one spot to #11.
Gonzaga’s next game is a road test against Kentucky, who is 15 in the NET and 18 in the AP Poll.
That game is at 4:00 Pacific Time Friday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
