LOS ANGELES — The Gonzaga women’s basketball team saw its strong West Coast Conference run hit a road bump, falling 72-63 to Loyola Marymount.
Despite competitive stretches early and keeping the game close for much of the first three quarters, the Bulldogs couldn’t sustain enough rhythm in the final quarter. LMU pulled away late with a decisive fourth-quarter surge.
Gonzaga had three players land in double figures, Allie Turner led the way with 19 points. Freshman standout Lauren Whittaker chipped in with strong rebounding but turnovers hindered the Zags chances to retake the lead down the stretch.
Gonzaga fell to 19-8 overall, snapping its four-game win streak and will look ahead to host Washington State on February 19 at 6 p.m.
