PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars (12-16, 7-8) took down the Pacific Tigers (17-12, 8-8) to inch closer to the number four spot in the WCC standings, now only a half-game back.
Rihards Vavers continues his sharpshooting season, hitting five three-pointers in an impressive 21-point night. Tomas Thrastarson returned to the lineup for the first time since Dec. 30 and scored 11 points in 17 minutes.
The Cougs only turned the ball over seven times and hit 14 threes, powering to their third WCC win by at least 17 points.
WSU closes their WCC home slate against the Saint Mary’s Gaels this Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
