SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga Bulldogs (22-8, 14-3) closed a strong fourth quarter on senior night to beat the Saint Mary’s Gaels (15-15, 6-11), 75-67.
Allie Turner tied an all-time school record with nine made three-points in a career 29-point night. Freshman Lauren Whittaker added another double-double: 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Senior Ines Bettencourt scored six points and dished four assists, and she gave a heartfelt postgame speech to the rowdy and full McCarthey Athletic Center crowd.
The Zags clinch at worst a top-two seed in the WCC Tournament, and they play for at least a share of the conference title this Saturday at the Portland Pilots. Tip-off in the Chiles Center is at 5:00 p.m.
