Spokane, WASH. — Esmeralda and Qualchan will open for the season on Monday, March 2nd and golfers can now book a tee time. Downriver and Indian Canyon will share opening dates as they are known.
The City of Spokane golf courses are now offering the ability to reserve a tee time online and from your phone up to 7 days in advance.
The county is preparing to open Liberty Lake, MeadowWood, and Latah Creek golf courses as well. A spokesperson says thanks to a mild winter, all three courses are in excellent condition. Liberty Lake and MeadowWood will open March 11th. Latah Creek will open March 20th. Tee times can be reserved online up to 12 days in advance here.
This year at city courses, there will be a $5 per-round increase. All the courses are funded solely by greens fees. The city says the increase will help pay for higher operational costs.
Golf Manager Mark Poirier says the rate structure will allow them to maintain the same level of service and turf quality while continuing to invest in capital improvements you see and feel on the course.
Poirier says they’ve ‘steadily been making improvements across our courses since 2019, including total irrigation replacements at Indian Canyon, Downriver, and Esmeralda, which has enhanced turf quality and reduced water usage by nearly 40 million gallons annually.’
You can book a maximum of two foursomes per day. It’s still possible to book more than eight players at a time or to book a tee time more than seven days in advance by calling the pro shop at the course you plan to play.
The city says all bookings outside of the seven day booking window will be charged the pre-book rate where no discounts apply.

Latah Creek Golf Course: Scheduled to open Friday, March 20. Latah Creek driving range and practice green are scheduled to open Friday, March 13.
