PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars (6-24, 5-12) posted their largest win of the season in a 69-55 drubbing of the WCC last-place Seattle U Redhawks (5-23, 1-16).
Alex Covill led Wazzu with 18 points, her most since mid-January, and seven rebounds. Eleonora Villa added 15 points and also seven boards.
WSU broke a school record shooting 17-17 from the free throw line.
The Cougs’ win prevents a bottom-two-seed finish, and, with a win this weekend against Saint Mary’s, could potentially land the Cougs tied for eighth.
Senior night tip-off in Pullman against the Gaels is Saturday at noon.
