SPOKANE, Wash. – Jackson Cox threw a remarkable day on the mound to lead the Spokane Indians (10-18) over the Tri-City Dust Devils (16-12), 4-2.
Cox tossed 7.0 IP, allowing just one hit, a solo home run, and threw three walks and nine strikeouts to earn his first win of the season on an Education Day game.
The 2025 Los Angeles Angels No. 2 overall draft pick, pitcher Tyler Bremner, threw only into the second inning and left as an injury substitution for Tri-City.
Kelvin Hidalgo’s two-RBI triple and a Max Belyeu home run helped lift the offense to do enough to win.
The Indians go for a 2-0 series lead with Game 2 tomorrow at 6:40 p.m.
