SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Zephyr destroyed Brooklyn FC in an impressive 4-0 rout, ensuring they’re kept alive for the playoff race that will finalize tonight.
After an own goal within the first two minutes, the fastest goal in Zephyr history, Felicia Knox added the second in the 36th minute, while Thais Reiss scored in the 82nd, and Lena Silano finished the game off in the 88th.
The margin of victory and goals scored are another pair of Zephyr records, as they’ve never scored four goals in club history until today. Spokane earned 13 of a possible 15 points across the final five regular-season matches.
Spokane now waits for the playoffs, as they need Dallas Trinity to draw or lose to Fort Lauderdale FC to make the final playoff spot. A Dallas win eliminates Spokane from postseason contention and ends the season today.
Kickoff between Dallas and Fort Lauderdale is tonight at 5:30.
