SPOKANE, Wash. — It seemed like it was a matter of time, but just a few days before the Egyptian national soccer team departs Spokane a few members of the delegation stopped by the city’s lone Egyptian restaurant.
Feteers posted to Facebook on Sunday night:
A Proud Moment for FETEERS! We were truly honored to welcome the Egyptian National Team delegation and the administrative staff, led by Captain Hany Abo Rida, to FETEERS.It was our pleasure to serve you, and we sincerely thank you for choosing us during your time in Spokane.
Then yesterday, an update that the owners got to go meet the team’s superstar, Mo Salah:
Having the Pharaohs make Spokane their World Cup home — and now reaching the knockout round for the first time ever — has been unforgettable. Friday it’s Egypt vs. Australia in Dallas. We’ll be cheering loud.
The team posted they’ll practice at Gonzaga Tuesday, and then head to Dallas ahead of its Friday matchup versus Australia.
