EUGENE, Ore. – The Spokane Indians found a way to answer every challenge Saturday night, surviving a late Eugene comeback before pulling out a 7-6 victory in 10 innings at PK Park.
Spokane jumped in front early, scoring in each of the first three innings. Roynier Hernandez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first before Tevin Tucker and Robert Calaz each drove in runs to build a 3-1 advantage.
Eugene chipped away with a solo home run from Jakob Christian in the fifth before Juan Castillo’s RBI single gave Spokane a 4-2 lead in the sixth.

The Indians broke through in the 10th. Kelvin Hidalgo lined an RBI ground-rule double to score Robert Calaz before Hernandez drew a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to 7-5.
Eugene got one run back in the bottom of the inning, but Francis Rivera recorded the final outs for his sixth save of the season, preserving Spokane’s 13th win of the second half.
Nathan Blasick earned the victory out of the bullpen as Spokane improved to 13-7 in the Northwest League second-half standings.
