SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane Indians have officially completed rebuilding their concession stand, bringing back crowd favorites and restoring a community staple.
A fire destroyed the original concession stand in September, causing over $1 million in damages. The team operated out of a temporary tent during the start of the season while construction and equipment installation took place. The concession stand started operating a month and a half ago, but finishing touches were completed yesterday.
Chayton Roberts, Director of Culinary Experience for the Spokane Indians, expressed relief at returning to the permanent facility. “It is like being back home. The tent and temporary set up we had was an interesting experience. But coming back into the concession stand and seeing everything back where it is supposed to be, is a great experience,” Roberts said.
The menu was adjusted during the rebuilding process while staff waited for new equipment. While not every item from before the fire is currently available, the team plans to restore the full menu as soon as possible.
Fans can visit the rebuilt concession stand at the Spokane Indians’ next home game on Tuesday, August 4.
