SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Chiefs forward Gavin Burcar put on a tremendous performance against Slovakia today to help lead the United States to a 5-2 win in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup semifinals.
Burcar scored a goal and added three assists to his four-point game, and the goal brought his tournament total to five.
The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is an annual international under-18 tournament run by Canada, Czechia, and Slovakia. The tournament is a major first look for many top NHL prospects in the summer before their draft year.
Team USA plays Canada in the tournament final tomorrow in Edmonton at 4:00 p.m. PST.
