WORLEY, Idaho – The Coeur du Christ Academy Saints beat the Lewis County Eagles today 44-16 behind fantastic performances from running back Jon Denke and quarterback Grant Clemens.
Denke scored a long receiving touchdown on the Saints’ first drive of the game, and a CDCA fumble recovery helped a second touchdown arrive just as quickly. Beckett Beyer scored the next touchdown off a screen pass, and his brother, Broghan, caught the successful two-point try.
A 22-0 halftime lead led to the 44-16 final, an almost-exact repeat of last season’s 44-14 win over the Eagles.
CDCA advances to 1-0 on the season behind the impressive home win, dropping Lewis County to 0-1.
