SPOKANE, Wash. – The Shadle Park Highlanders (0-2) fell to the Sageview Lobos (2-0) in the programs’ first-ever meeting, 54-7.
Sageview started the game with a quick touchdown, a special-teams forced fumble, and another score, taking a 14-0 lead before Shadle Park had an offensive snap.
The Lobos had an intense passing attack, rushing the ball only a small handful of times as quarterback Alex Flores Moreno scored six times.
Tonight featured the first time Sageview ever played a Greater Spokane League team, as the Pasco-based program is just two weeks into its second year of existence.
Next for the Highlanders is a battle with one of the best in the GSL 3A: the Mt. Spokane Wildcats. Kickoff arrives next Friday at 4:30 p.m.
