SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga’s Chauncey Wiggins takes his eligibility fight close to home, filing a lawsuit to play his fifth season.
Wiggins, the sole remaining Zags’ commit to remain ineligible, initially joined a lawsuit in Georgia and then Texas, both resulting in TROs, which kept the former Florida State star ineligible.
Court orders already cleared Gonzaga’s other fifth-year players, Javon Bennett and Xaivian Lee.
Wiggins will have his first hearing at 9:00 a.m. on Nov. 17, keeping him out of the Zags’ next two games. Gonzaga hosts Montana State that same night, meaning it is possible he could play that evening.
