PULLMAN, Wash – Cougar fans could soon buy beer and wine during football games without leaving the stadium.
The Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board confirmed to 4 News Now Wednesday that Aramark and Washington State University have submitted a request for a one-year pilot program that would allow beer and wine sales in general seating during football games starting this fall.
This would not include the student section.
Right now, the only place fans can buy alcohol inside Martin Stadium is on the club and suite levels.
LCB says the licensing and enforcement departments have reviewed the request and are preparing a recommendation for the board to consider.
It’s not clear when that will happen.
WSU conducted a similar pilot program with beer and wine sales at basketball games inside Beasley Coliseum.
Now, those alcohol sales continue in general admission seating, but not the student section.
