SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Mariners open the season at 0-1 after a 6-4 loss to the Cleveland Guardians.
Mariners superstars Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez combined for 0-7 from the plate and six strikeouts. The game’s high point included newcomer Brendan Donovan hitting the first lead-off Opening Day home run in Seattle history.
Cleveland’s Chase DeLautter mashed his first and second career MLB home runs in his regular-season debut, he made his team debut in the 2025 postseason.
Seattle and Cleveland take game two of four tomorrow at T-Mobile Park tomorrow at 6:40 p.m.
