SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Indians couldn’t overcome great early opponent pitching and clutch late hitting, falling to the Vancouver Canadians, 9-7.
The Canadians scored the first three runs, but a five-run Spokane bottom of the sixth put the Indians up. Spokane allowed a game-tying home run in the top of the ninth, and they fell after a grand slam in the top of the 10th.
Vancouver starting pitcher Daniel Guerra tossed a perfect five innings, plus 11 strikeouts.
Spokane returns to action in game four of the six-game series tomorrow at 6:35 p.m.
