MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Seattle Mariners suffered their worst loss in franchise history, 22-0, at the Milwaukee Brewers.
Seattle tied the biggest blowout loss in baseball’s modern era with the first 22-0 loss since 2004.
The Brewers mashed 22 hits, including seven players with multi-hit games and four home runs.
Milwaukee outgained Seattle in total bases 36-7.
Perhaps the most painful moment of the game for Mariners fans was Julio Rodriguez tossing a flyout back into the stands despite only two outs. The erroneous move allowed two extra Brewers runs, bumping their lead to 21.
Seattle returns for Game 2 of the series tomorrow at 4:40 p.m.
