SEATTLE – The Seattle Mariners are calling up the top pitching prospect in baseball.
Left-hander Kade Anderson is expected to make his MLB debut Saturday against the Chicago Cubs as Seattle looks to hold on in the postseason race.
Anderson has been dominant at Double-A Arkansas this season, going 10-1 with a 1.06 ERA in 18 starts. The 22-year-old has struck out 135 and walked just 13 over 93⅓ innings.
The Mariners selected Anderson third overall in the 2025 MLB Draft out of LSU. He has held opponents scoreless in 13 of his 18 starts this season.
Anderson brings a mid-90s fastball, two breaking pitches and an elite changeup. His promotion gives Seattle another weapon as the Mariners try to make a push down the stretch.
Bryan Woo’s scheduled start will be pushed back to make room for Anderson.
