SEATTLE, Wash. – Following last night’s dramatic 6-5 walk-off win over the Houston Astros, the Seattle Mariners didn’t need to wait long today for the postseason dreams to die.
The Texas Rangers beat the New York Mets 3-1, guaranteeing the Rangers a better final season record than the Mariners, knocking the M’s out of postseason contention.
Seattle won 90 games last season and was a win away from its first World Series appearance to now locked behind a losing season.
