DENVER, Colo. – The Seattle Seahawks’ many mistakes shot down any late attempt to complete a comeback win at the Denver Broncos, falling 17-14 on Thursday Night Football.
Broncos kicker Will Lutz nailed a 53-yard field goal to win the game, a Denver victory despite a tepid 168 total yards.
Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold threw an interception in the fourth quarter and overtime; the former cost the team a great shot to tie the game late, and the second one effectively lost the Seahawks the matchup.
The Seahawks ‘Dark Side’ defense showed up strong tonight, allowing just three of 14 third-down conversions and 13 first downs, alongside forcing six straight punts to end the second half.
Seattle now gets plenty of extra time to rest, next hosting the Kansas City Chiefs for Sunday Night Football on Oct. 25 at 5:20 p.m.
