PULLMAN, Wash – WSU men’s and women’s basketball teams get to open up their seasons in the friendly confines of Beasley Coliseum Monday night.
The action starts at 4 p.m. with the WSU women’s team hosting Eastern Washington University. The game will be live on ESPN+.
The Cougars are coming off the program’s first ever back-to-back 20-win seasons.
Coach Kamie Ethridge welcomes back three starters from last year’s team.
The Washington State men’s basketball team begins the David Riley era Monday night hosting the Portland State Vikings.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
Riley replaces Kyle Smith who left the Cougs after five seasons to take over at Stanford University.
Riley, who spent three seasons as head coach at Eastern Washington, is the 20th head coach in WSU history.
WSU ended last season with a loss to Iowa State in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Cougs return only two players from last year’s roster, Isaiah Watts and Parker Gerrits.
WSU and Oregon State are playing this season and next in the West Coast Conference. In 2026, WSU and OSU will be part of the rebuilt Pac-12 conference, welcoming Gonzaga, Fresno State, Colorado State, Boise State, San Diego State and Utah State.
