PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars are up to 3-0 after their first three games after a dominant second-half performance pushed them to their sixth-straight victory over the Idaho Vandals.
Nate Calmese led the Cougs with 18 points shooting 8-15 from the field, along with LeJuan Watts’ 14 rebounds.
Idaho saw only two players in double-digit scoring (Isaiah Brickner (13) and Julius Mims (11)) and the team shot a poor 36.5% from the field and made only five of their 24 three-point attempts.
Washington State doubled Idaho’s assists with 16, plus completely controlled the boards, winning that margin 45-29.
Idaho’s next game remains on the road, traveling south to the BYU Cougars this Saturday at noon.
Wazzu also ventures away, trekking to Quad Cities, IA to play the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Quad Cities Hoops Showdown.
