PULLMAN, Wash – Support is pouring in for the family of a Pullman teenager who was killed in a crash last weekend.
13-year-old Zion Bischoff was killed in a crash on Highway 195 between Pullman and Spokane Saturday morning. His father Steve was injured in the crash, when a semi lost control on the ice and hit the Bischoff’s vehicle, sending it into two other cars.
Zion was remembered as a friend to many and was remembered online by the Washington East Surf Soccer Club, for which he played. A Facebook post from the club called him “a truly beautiful soul.”
In the days since, support for the Bischoff family has poured in. A GoFundMe account to support the family has already raised more than $126,000.
Washington State Football Coach Jake Dickert started a news conference this week by acknowledging the loss. Dickert’s daughter Rylee was a friend of Zion’s, along with other children of Cougar coaches.
The Cougs will wear a sticker on their helmets this weekend carrying Zion’s initials.
