PULLMAN, Wash – Washington State University and Gonzaga University are just 76 miles apart, yet the two schools haven’t met on the basketball court in almost 10 years.
That changes in early 2025, when the two teams meet first at Gonzaga, then at Washington State.
The first game is January 11 in Spokane, but your best chance to see the teams play in person is February 19 at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman.
WSU season ticket holders and members of the Cougar Athletic Fund will have first crack at the tickets Tuesday, December 3 starting at 10 a.m.
WSU announced Monday tickets for the general public go on sale Thursday, December 5 at 10 a.m.
WSU students with a sports pass have access to the game on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can buy general admission tickets starting Thursday.
You can find more information about the game and about ticket sales here.
This is the first time the teams have played since 2015, but their history dates back more than a century.
The teams first met on December 16, 1907. The Cougs won that game 21-18.
Despite the Zags decades of national recognition, WSU actually owns the series. The Cougs have won 98 of the meetings, with Gonzaga winning 51.
The teams will play this series as West Coast Conference foes, with WSU playing in the WCC until the Pac-12 is rebuilt.
They’ll be rivals in another conference starting in 2026 when the Zags join the Pac-12.
