SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga Hall of Famer and former NBA veteran Dan Dickau knows a thing or two about the NBA Draft process.
Dickau was the 28th pick in the 2002 NBA Draft and spent six seasons in the league.
Gonzaga forward Anton Watson is currently going through the draft process.
Watson is just the 75th best player on ESPN’s draft rankings and is not expected to be selected.
However, Dickau says Watson could still find a spot on an NBA roster.
“You know culturally, because he’s a flat out winner, NBA teams look for that,” Dickau said. “I don’t think he’s going to get drafted unfortunately, but I think he’s going carve out a career at some point. It might not be in year one. But I think at some point he will put on an NBA jersey.”
Watson is coming off his best season in his five-year career at Gonzaga.
He scored a career-best 14.5 points per game and made All-WCC First-Team.
The NBA Draft is set for 5 p.n. Wednesday on KXLY/ABC.
